Who We Are:

Escott O. Norton has spent almost 40 years immersed in the preservation and advocacy of historic theatres. In 1983 he founded the Friends of the Rialto, a non-profit group dedicated to advocating for the Rialto Theatre in South Pasadena. He was a founding member of the Los Angeles Historic Theatre Foundation in 1987, and in 2013 he was chosen to serve on the Board of Directors, acting as Executive Director for 7 years. In that role he actively worked with theatre owners, managers, and government officials to protect, preserve, restore and sustain historic theatres throughout Los Angeles County.

Escott also worked in the film industry as a production designer for over a decade, designing commercials and feature films. As a native of Los Angeles he was familiar with his city at an early age and started shooting his own low budget movies on location when he was 12 years old.

Combining his filmmaking experience with his extensive knowledge of local historic theatres, Escott can help you find the PERFECT theatre location for your production or event.
